Inside the mica band heater, resistance wire coils generate heat when electricity passes through them.
The mica layers insulate the coils while conducting heat toward the outer metal sheath.
The sheath (often stainless steel or Incoloy) transfers this heat to the plastic material in the barrel.

Most blow molding processes require precise temperature control.
Thermocouples or thermostats are often integrated with the heaters or mounted nearby to monitor and maintain consistent barrel temperature.
This prevents overheating, ensures uniform melting, and avoids defects in the molded products.
