The electric kettle is broken but the power switch is normal. If the power switch is normal, the fault mostly occurs in the heat preservation switch. First, check whether the reed of the bimetallic plate is pressing the switch contact rod. If it is pressed too tightly, bend it upward with tweezers until the distance between the two is 0.5-1mm. If the distance between the bimetal and the switch contact rod is normal, the switch box should be disassembled, and the contacts and reeds of the heat preservation switch should be cleaned and repaired.

There is no heating after power on, but the indicator light is on and the indicator light is on, indicating that the power supply has been added to the indicator circuit. The fault is in the electric heating tube or its connecting part. The common electric heating tube is damaged and poor contact. It can be judged by removing the electric heating tube and measuring its resistance. The electric heating tube is damaged and can only be replaced. Poor contact is mainly due to the severe corrosion or deformation of the contact reeds in the power plug assembly. The switch box can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. If it is severely damaged, it is best to replace it with a new one.

The electricity cannot be cut off after the water boils, mainly due to the failure of the reset switch. The common cause is that the temperature sensor is severely deformed or the action of the switch linkage is blocked. For the former, the protrusion angle of the small tongue of the temperature sensor can be bent again to make it operate normally when pushing the switch connecting rod. For the latter, it is necessary to find the obstructed part or foreign body, and generally only need to remove the foreign body and correct the position to return to normal.

The heating speed is slow. Common reasons are low power supply voltage and poor contact of indoor power lines or plug sockets, which should be ruled out first. Then check whether the electric heating tube is seriously fouled, whether the contact between the base and the power plug seat of the kettle body is seriously bad, etc. If the heating tube is fouled, it can be lightly scraped with a knife, and then polished with fine sandpaper. If the contact between the base and the power plug seat of the kettle body is severely poor, first remove the plug seat contact piece and the oxide layer and dirt of the contact, and then correct its shape to make the two close and good contact.
