Precautions for Installation of Heating Belt

1. Before Installation

The anti-rust and anti-corrosion coating should be dry, no burrs and sharp corners on the pipeline, no damage to the hot surface of the electric belt, and the insulation resistance of the heating belt should be ≥20MΩ (1000VDC). Do not pull the heating belt forcefully, and avoid placing pedals or heavy objects on the heating belt; the models of the heating belt and all accessories should be consistent with the design requirements.

2. Installing

Fix the heating tape on the dry pipe with glass fiber pressure-sensitive tape or aluminum tape every about 50cm. Usually, attach the heating tape 45 degrees below the pipe as much as possible; reserve 1m at the first power supply point and the end of the line. Long electric heating belt; a certain length of electric heating belt should be reserved at all heat sinks such as brackets, valves, flanges, etc., so that it can be removed, repaired, and replaced at any time. 40cm length should be reserved at each end of the heating belt where two-way or three-way accessories are used. For multiple heating cables, attention should be paid to the reasonable selection of power points to facilitate maintenance. The material of the insulation layer must be dry, and a waterproof outer cover should be added. A warning label should be added to the insulation layer to indicate "there is an electric heating belt inside".

3. Inspection and Testing after Installation

Check whether the surface of the heating belt is damaged, and test one end of each independent circuit with a shaker 2500VDC. The insulation resistance should be above 20MΩ. It should be ensured that the overload protection, leakage protection and explosion-proof safety devices of the power supply are in good condition.
