How To Use A Thermocouple

The thermocouple can directly measure the temperature and convert the temperature signal into a thermoelectromotive force signal, and then into the temperature of the measured medium. It is often used as a temperature measuring element in a furnace temperature tester, so the correct use of a thermocouple is very important, and it is related to the change of the temperature curve. Since thermocouples are consumables, they are more prone to problems during use. Therefore, understanding the correct use of thermocouples can better extend their service life and save costs for enterprises.

1. When sticking the thermocouple to the workpiece, you must remember to closely fit the product workpiece, and not allow the solder joints of the thermocouple to sway inside, especially when the thermocouple solder joints come into contact with metal, they are prone to instantaneous voltage. As a result, the temperature in a certain place of the measured temperature curve suddenly rises very high, which will cause the Y-axis coordinate of the analysis software to also become very high, then the whole curve will look very small.

2. The correct wiring method of the thermocouple is: connect the red wire to the negative pole, and the yellow wire to the positive pole.

3. For glass fiber thermocouples, remember to pinch the male plug with your hand and pull it out when plugging or unplugging. Do not pull the wire. This will easily cause the protective cover to be loosened or pull out the male plug, causing the core to be exposed. Causes a short circuit phenomenon.

4. Don't tie a knot or bend it over 90 degrees when using it. This will easily cause the two inner cores to break. After it is broken, you don't know where it was broken, then this thermocouple is useless. Be careful when using it, and don't use it brutally.
