A PTC air heater is an advanced heating device using ceramic-based PTC elements to provide heat. Ceramic-based PTC is different from traditional heaters which are typically made with metal coils that can over-heat. This technology self-regulates heating so the ceramic never gets dangerously hot, and when it reaches the desired heat, the energy consumption drops down.
1. The PTC ceramic element heats up as the electric current passes.
2. As the temperature of the ceramic increases, the resistance of the PTC ceramic also increases. This decrease of electric current stabilizes the total heat output of the heating element.
