The Core of Electric Heating Elements—Heating Wire

Mar 02, 2020

Heating wire is a common heating element and play an important role in the life, which generates heat after being electrified and converts the electrical energy into thermal energy. Heating wire has a widely use—medical, chemical, electrical and electronics industries.

Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire and Ni-Cr alloy wire as the common heating wire, which have different functional characteristics. Let’s take a look at the difference between the Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire and the Ni-Cr alloy wire.

The Advantages and disadvantages of Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire:

Advantages: It has high service temperature, life-long time, high surface load, great antioxidation, cheap price.

Disadvantages: Low high-temperature strength, and increasing its plasticity when the increasing service temperature. It is easy to deform under high temperature environment and difficult to repair after deformation.

The Advantage and disadvantages of Ni-Cr alloy wire:

Advantages: Its temperature strength is higher than Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire and not easy to deform under high temperature environment. Good plasticity, corrosion resistance, life-long time.

Disadvantages: Its service temperature is lower than Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire, however, the price are more higher than Fe-Cr-Al alloy wire.
