When choosing a thermostat, attention should be paid to the selection of the electric heating element and the maximum carrying power of the thermostat, especially the following details:
1. Since the heating cable has hot and cold wire connection joints, whether it is welded or crimped connection, it is necessary to ensure long-term reliability under high temperature, oxidation, corrosion and other conditions. Excessive power (excessive current) hot and cold wire joints may cause overcurrent risk.
2. Because the allowable fluctuation value of 220V AC voltage is 10%%, and due to technical deviation factors such as electrical cable aging and electrical equipment, heating element power, thermostat current, etc., the maximum carrying power of the thermostat should be greater than the heating element power by 20 %.
3. If the power of the electric heating element is below 2816W, a thermostat with a current of 16A can be used. The power of the electric heating element is between 2816W and 3520W, and a thermostat with a current of 20A should be selected. Such as: 16A current thermostat: rated voltage is 220V, reserve 20% safety factor, theoretically the maximum carrying power is 2816W; 20A current thermostat: rated voltage is 220V, reserve 20%% safety factor, theoretical The maximum carrying power is 3520W.
