1. The overall performance difference:

The S-type thermocouple is superior to the other two thermocouples in terms of accuracy and stability. The S-type thermocouple has the highest accuracy, the best stability, wide temperature measurement range, and long service life among the thermocouple series. The disadvantage of the S-type thermocouple is that the cost is higher than the other two thermocouples.


2. Difference in operating temperature:

The S-type thermocouple is a precious metal thermocouple. The long-term maximum use temperature of the thermocouple is 1300°C, and the short-term maximum use temperature is 1600°C. K-type thermocouple is the cheapest metal thermocouple with the largest consumption at present, and its operating temperature is -200~1300℃. Type T is also the best thermocouple for measuring low temperature and cheap metals. Its use temperature is -200~350℃.


3. The difference in antioxidant properties:

The S-type thermocouple has good chemical properties, thermoelectric potential stability and good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and is suitable for oxidizing and inert atmospheres. K-type thermocouples cannot be directly used in sulfur, reducing or reducing, oxidizing alternate atmospheres and vacuum at high temperatures, nor are they recommended for use in weakly oxidizing atmospheres. The positive copper of the T-type thermocouple has poor oxidation resistance at high temperatures, so the upper limit of the operating temperature is limited.
