Working Principle of Capillary Buld Mechanical Thermostat
Capillary Buld Mechanical Thermostat is based on the principle of thermal expansion. The internal space of the thermostat consists of liquid (eg, Mercury) or natural gas. When the temperature of the bulb filled with natural gas increases, the gas undergoes an expansion. Thus, the gas expands along the path of the capillary tube and finally reaches the bellow (diaphragm). The expansion of the fluid causes an expansion of the diaphragm on both sides. So during an expansion, it presses the switch which changes the external circuit from closed to open stage.
