What is the difference between an automatic reset type and a manual reset type thermostat?

Thermostat can be divided into automatic reset type and manual reset type according to the action type.

But many people don't know what is the difference between the two and what is the difference in appearance. Today we will take you all to understand the difference between the two types.

1. Automatic reset type: The thermostat can automatically return to its original state after protection and cooling.

2. Manual reset type: After protection and cooling, you need to press the switch by hand to restore.

Let's take an example.

1. The automatic reset type temperature switch is installed in the kettle. The temperature switch used for this is a normally closed manual reset type thermostat.

When the temperature is below the rated temperature, it is in a normally closed state. When the temperature reaches the rated temperature, the contact will be disconnected to stop heating. When the temperature drops again, it heats up again.

2. When used in water heaters for anti-dry burning protection, the manual reset thermstatat must be used. Its function is to prevent the heating tube or the inner tank from being damaged due to the lack of water in the inner tank.

When the temperature of the water heater exceeds the rated temperature, it will be disconnected to protect the heater, but after the temperature drops, most of them will not automatically resume and close, and it needs to be reset manually after troubleshooting.
