PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater has become more and more important to future electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles.
With the increasing use of fuel-efficient diesel and hybrid vehicles, producing engines with lower heat dissipation rates is the recent trend to reduce the available "waste" heat for cabin heating. To increase cabin temperature while reducing cabin heating time,a new PTCelectric heater system has been developed to complement current vehicle heating performance based on engine heating.
Automotive PTC auxiliary heater systems feature in adaptive ambient temperature and automatic power regulation based on fan speed, as well as self-regulation of heater temperature. In addition, the power consumption of the PTC heater can automatically match the available voltage power levels under all vehicle operating conditions.
PTC Auxiliary Heater Features
1.Multiple heaters can be controlled for heating.
2.Double thermal safety and longer life: in all high output models, the switching element and the PC board are thermally isolated from each other by bus bars; in addition, a thermal cut-out is included in the PTC electronics;
3.Reduce development time of specific applications for customer and reduce tooling time.
4.Can withstand external electric shock.
