How is the heating pipe in the water heater insulated from water

Mar 11, 2022

Different electric water heaters use different heating pipes and different insulating materials. There are generally two types of heating pipes used in electric water heaters on the market:

The first is metal heating pipe, such as stainless steel heating pipe, red copper heating pipe, etc. This kind of heating pipe is composed of power generation hot wire, outer stainless steel pipe and magnesium oxide for insulation. Magnesium oxide is filled between the electric heating wire and the stainless steel pipe. Magnesium oxide only conducts heat and does not conduct electricity, so as to achieve the purpose of insulation.

The second kind is non-metallic heating pipe, such as glass heating pipe, ceramic heating pipe, etc. glass and ceramic materials themselves are poor conductors of electricity. They all put electricity outside the heating body and water inside the heating body. In this way, the purpose of insulation is achieved through the material of the heating body itself. The ceramic heating pipe is completely isolated from water and electricity, and the heating pipe is dry burning proof.

Throughout the heating body of water heater in the market, red copper heating pipe and stainless steel heating pipe are the mainstream of heating body. This kind of heater has high heating efficiency and mature technology.
