Infrared is a kind of energy wave. Because part of it is electric wave and part is magnetic wave, it belongs to the family of electromagnetic wave. In the polarization analysis electromagnetic spectrum, infrared is the radiation wave between the super-visible light band and the micro-outside, which is seen by the naked eye. 

The frequency of infrared is approximately between 1012 and 5 × 1014C/S. The name and effect of infrared are based on its wavelength. In the infrared spectrum, it is known that the wavelength ranges from 0.75 to 1,000 μ, and it is distinguished between near and far; usually the wavelength of 0.75 to 2.5 μ is called near infrared, and the wavelength of 2.5 to 1,000 μ is called far infrared. In use, Some people divide it into three areas, namely near infrared and intermediate infrared (2.5 μ ~ 1,000 μ), but in fact, there is no precise boundary in various electromagnetic radiation fields, but the two ends overlap each other.
