Why should the cartridge heater be moisture-proof?
If cartridge heater is used or storaged in high-humidity environments, it will cause a drop in insulation resistance. If a higher voltage is suddenly connected, it is easy to cause leakage, short circuit, etc. It is because the interior of the electric heater is generally filled with magnesium oxide powder, which has the effect of insulation and heat conduction. But the magnesium oxide powder is very easy to absorb moisture. Before leaving the factory, we will go through a strict moisture removal operation, and seal it immediately after the moisture removal. The sealing material used generally not only ensures that the interior of the electric heater is dry, but also has air permeability under certain circumstances to cope with the expansion when the interior is heated.
The cartridge heater that has been placed for a long time must be well protected from moisture and placed in a ventilated and dry place to ensure the insulation performance of the product.
There is no need to worry about the cartridge heater that has been wet. After the power is turned on, the moisture in the heater evaporates, and the insulation performance will gradually recover. It can be started with a low voltage and gradually increase the voltage to a normal value, which will help the internal moisture of the electric heater. Never perform direct high voltage start-up on a damped heater as this will cause permanent damage to the product.
