EGO Heating Plate Replacement: Dimension & Power Matching Guide

When an EGO heating plate needs replacement, matching its rated power and nominal size is not enough. The mounting dimensions, heating structure, terminal layout, voltage, and temperature-control arrangement must also be checked.

The nominal diameter or length × width is only one part of the installation dimensions.

 

For example, an EGO commercial hotplate drawing for the 220 × 220 mm series shows additional mounting and connection details, including four supporting points, terminal straps, an earthing connection, and specified side dimensions. [4]

 

Before selecting a replacement, compare:

• Overall dimensions: Round diameter or square/rectangular length and width.
• Mounting structure: Supporting points, fixing holes, brackets, and mounting height.
• Profile and rim: Hotplate height, edge shape, and spill-ring dimensions.
• Terminal arrangement: Number, position, direction, and type of electrical connections.
• Clearance: Available space beneath the cooking surface and around the terminals.

A replacement with the same nominal diameter may still require a different mounting arrangement.

If the original installation cannot be modified, dimensional compatibility becomes especially important.

 

 

Power and voltage must be checked together. A hotplate with the correct physical size but a different electrical rating may not provide the intended heating performance.

Important: Do not select a replacement based on wattage alone. Confirm the equipment supply voltage, wiring arrangement, phase, and required heating performance. A change in voltage or power can affect current draw and the equipment's control system.
