How to calculate the length and weight of a resistance wire?

Known conditions, resistance wire length 1000mm, pitch 6mm, spiral outer diameter 20mm, wire diameter 3mm

1. Calculate the weight per meter of the heating wire

Wire diameter: 3.0mm

Material density: 7.1

Weight per meter = material density * cross-sectional area of the wire, namely: 7.1*(3.14*1.5*1.5)=50.162g/m

2. Calculate the length of the material used for the resistance wire

The length of the heating wire is 1000mm, the pitch is 6mm, the outer diameter of the spiral is 20mm, and the wire diameter is 3mm.

a. Number of spiral turns: 1000/6=166.66≈167 turns

b. The perimeter of each circle, the formula is C=πd, C=3.14*(20-3)=53.38mm

c. The length of an electric resistance wire: the number of spiral turns * the circumference of each turn, that is, 167 turns * 53.38 = 8914.46mm

3. Calculate the weight of the resistance wire

Weight per meter * length, namely: 50.162*8.91446≈448g/piece
