The characteristics and quality of ptc components is a direct decision ptc heater product performance good and bad.
Currently commonly used in heaters and other constant temperature heater products ptc heating element are high temperature ptc components, Curie temperature is higher than 120 ℃, and low temperature ptc components compared to the manufacturing process, performance parameters have a large difference. Good ptc characteristics is the basis for obtaining good heating performance.
Then we need to consider the parameters when choosing ptc heater elements.
(1)Room temperature resistance R25: for 110 ~ 220V voltage, R25 generally take 100Ω ~ 10KΩ, for 6 ~ 24V, R25 take 0.5 ~ 5Ω. in general, R25 is small, the starting current is larger, heating faster, and power is also larger. But the voltage resistance is poor.
(2)Curie temperature TC should be moderate: under certain conditions, increase TC can correspondingly increase the power consumption of the heater, but TC is too high (greater than 260 ℃), so that the electrode of the PTC element is easy to aging, life is significantly shortened, and often accompanied by thermal breakdown. Therefore, the general choice of 260 ℃ Curie temperature below the PTC heating element.
(3) High voltage resistance: at least two times the use of voltage, to prevent electric breakdown.
(4)Resistance temperature coefficient should be large: generally greater than 14, to ensure that less affected by changes in ambient temperature.
(5)The starting inrush current should be moderate: the inrush current is generally required to be less than twice the value of the stable working current.
